It’s summer soon I would love to think so, it is May and it has been raining for a few days now. The month started so well with a lot of sunshine, I’m not sure why it has changed. Ok despite the weather lets share our detox routine, we all have that time when your body feels like it needs cleansing. I will share with you the detox process that works for me. You all need to perform detox as much as you can. Why do I say it’s important to detox yourself? Check the list of my detox routine and their benefits.


Not all of us are fun of drinking water, what you can do to help you if you are one of them, is to add some flavor to it. You can add different types of fruits that will help you in many ways as you increase your water intake. Water helps in cleaning out your system while each fruit works in its own way in body cleansing.

Watermelon: Is low in calories and helps hydrate the body. It fights inflammation and free radical damage while providing vitamin A and vitamin B, which act’s as anti-aging properties. It has a  high amount of lycopene, a type of carotenoid. Lycopene gives watermelon that reddish color and serves as a powerful antioxidant. Watermelon also has potassium and magnesium, which are important for detoxification, managing blood flow and hydration levels in the body. so add some of these in your water bottle this summer. Cucumber: We all know that this vegetable helps in slowing down an aging process. Did you also know that cucumbers are diuretics, and stimulate urination which helps to cleanse the liver, flush out bodily toxins and avoid water retention? Well now you know you can start topping up your water flavor with some cucumber.

Lemon: This fruit contains ascorbic acid, ascorbic acid helps to detoxify the body and also aids digestion. It provides vitamin C, which stimulates white blood cell production and boosts immune system function. Lemon water will make your skin glow and boosts your energy. A lemon water detox may also help you to lose weight because they contain pectin, a type of fiber that helps in making you feel full longer.

Lime:  Just like lemon, lime has vitamin C and antioxidants. Vitamin C is known to boost your energy level, boost the immune system. Limes aid detoxification by promoting the action of glutathione-S-transferase an enzyme in the liver that plays a big role in detox process They also contain flavonoids that stimulate the digestion. I cannot be without lime water in the fridge during summer.

    Apple Cider Vinegar: Apple cider vinegar increases metabolism and speeds up weight loss. In order to cleanse your live and lymphatic system, add some of apple cider vinegar in your bottle of water. It helps balance your body’s pH and promotes cardiovascular stimulation.

Ginger: Ginger serves as an effective digestive aid. It can be added to any detox drink to help relieve bloating, constipation and gastrointestinal issues. Ginger is also known to warm the body and helps to break down the accumulation of toxins in the organs.
