LITTLE VENICE
LITTLE VENICE MYKONOS

After months of being locked up, I felt like an inmate only that I was in my house, and a trip to Mykonos was the best deal breaker. Mykonos, which according to Greek mythology, took its name from its first ruler Mykons, it’s one of the most famous, vibrant, cosmopolitan, beautiful, traditional, and perfect all-year-round.

Located in the heart of the Cyclades islands of Greece, this whitewashed paradise island will meet your expectation. You name it celebrities, college students, whether you are an entertainment junkie out for a real good time, or a visitor who wishes to explore the island’s history, and tradition this destination will certainly meet your expectations.

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO VISIT?.

The best time to visit Mykonos is in September and October. Sitting in the Aegean Sea, this island’s weather permits a year-round flow of tourists, but in September or October you’ll see that the large crowd has left, the water remains warm, and the hotel rates descend back into a reasonable range.

I manage to escape Athens’s busy life just after the quarantine, and it was the best time ever. This paradise destination was not crowded as it’s always is due to the COVID-19 situation.

  1. Little Venice.

Let’s start with one of the most scenic corners of the island Alefkántra or “Little Venice”, that’s situated right next to Mykonos Town. Being one of the most photographed locations in Europe, this place is eye candy. A hotspot for travelers who are keen to experience Mykonos’s nightlife. Many of these houses have now been converted to small bars.

3. Sunset.

Mykonos is one of the Cyclades islands of Greece, it’s certainly known for its windmills. The best places to catch a sunset is at the windmills by the harbor of Alefkandra, and also the windmills that are located on the hills of Chora. If you’re lucky, you can capture the sunset just as it’s illuminating these unique landmarks.

I was able to discover another best location to catch a sunset. Kapari is a free beach where you can sit, and watch the sun disappear with its amazing reflection on the Aegean waters.

4. Beach Hopping.

You should prepare yourself for a swim. Mykonos has plenty of startling, sandy beaches, perfect to relax with a cocktail in hand, enjoy water sports or get the party going. The good thing about Mykonos, you have a wide range of beaches to visit.
